How to Speed Up Computer – 6 Easy Steps to Boost PC Performance


Have you ever thought about how to make you computer perform better Beside adding more RAM to your PC or reinstall the system, here I would like to share with you another 6 steps that can make your computer run faster. I personally use these steps to optimize my computer all the time and they really work.

1.  Empty the Recycle Bin. Just right click on the Recycle Bin icon on the desktop, then select Empty Recycle Bin. You may also open Recycle Bin by double clicking its icon, and then right click on the pop-on Windows to select Empty Recycle Bin, with this way, you can view all the data first before you decide to delete them. If you found something useful and don’t want to delete it, just right click on the file and select restore.

2.  Delete temporary Files and Cookies. First open your IE explorer, go to tool-Internet Options – click Delete button (in the Browsing History section), then click Delete Files With Yes to confirm. Do the same for Delete Cookies in the Internet Temporary Files section.

Now you have done two steps that faster your computer, follow me and there are still 4 more steps that can optimize your PC performance.

3.  Disk cleanup. You may go Start-All program – Accessories – System Tools – Disk Cleanup. Once you click Disk Cleanup and select the disk volume, system will calculate how much free space you have at present, and then show you a list of file to delete. Tick all the option and then click OK.

4.  Spyware Scan. It is very easy for a computer to get infected by spyware when connected to the internet, and the performance is losing gradually.. It is highly recommended to keep an anti-spyware program in the computer and perform spyware scan at a schedule time which is a good way to maintain the PC performance.

5.  Virus Scan. Anti-virus program is a must have program for each computer users as virus is one of the biggest thread for the whole system performance, some of the virus not only slow down the performance but also cause many severe problems like file corrupt, data losing, even system crash. It will definitely make your computer safer and faster after the virus scan.

6.  Defragment the hard disk, which is the most important step for computer optimization. The process of defragment might take you probably an hour and require no other action on the computer, so you’d better find something else to do during the defragment such watch TV, do laundry, mow the lawn or whatever that can kills time. To start the defragment, you may open my computer, right click on the disk that you want to defrag, click Properties – Tool – Defragment Now. Generally you would gain approximately 10%-30% performance improvement after the defragmentation, it pretty much depends on what kind of condition your computer was.
