1) A very basic but very valuable tip when dealing with computer problems is the Control-Alt-Delete hot key combo. Hold down the Control and Alt keys simultaneous and then hit the delete button. If done once, this will open the Task Manager in windows, allowing you to end any malfunctioning programs. If done twice, it will restart the computer, hopefully solving the error in the reboot.

2) Websites will often install information on your computer without your knowledge, commonly known as spy ware. This is what has happened if you find that your home page has changed to a different website. In order to avoid this problem, it is best to update your anti-spy software often. You can easily change your homepage back, but be aware of the links you click on various websites.
